How does Mark Monitor Reports Work?

Hollander and Company LLC searches a proprietary database of millions of domain names from all generic top-level domains (gTLDs) (i.e., .com, .org, .net, .biz, .us, .info, etc.) including country code top-level domains (ccTLDs), and Web site home pages. Hollander and Company LLC finds Web sites that have incorporated your company name, product, brand or trademarks within the site's domain name or underlying HTML code, and delivers comprehensive reports of potential brand abuses in near-real time.

The free "Size the Problem" report quantifies sites using your search term in domain names (Cybersquatting) or on home pages (Brand Abuse). If the number of instances exceeds what you know your company controls, you should then purchase a report. You can choose from a Cybersquatting report (which will tell you exactly which websites have your search term or company name in their domain name and the registrant's contact information), a Brand Abuse report (which identifies which homepages have your search term, where it is hidden, and the registrant's contact information) or the Combination report (provides you both Cybersquatting and Brand Abuse reports). You can then download these results, and prioritize which Web sites require follow-up action.

Armed with this critical intelligence, you can proactively protect your online marketing and brand presence, and put a stop to trademark infringements, traffic diversion, customer confusion, and lost revenues.

Why should I care?

If a thief broke into your company at night and stole cash out of your register, YOU WOULD CARE! Online brand abuse can have the same economic impact. If customers trying to find your company on the Internet are diverted or tricked into visiting a competitors website, YOU are losing money. Get the Facts: After Hollander and Company LLC determines the scope of potential brand abuse, you can purchase additional reports that provide detailed information about the sites using or subverting your brands. With this information, you will know which sites are abusing your company online, how they are perpetrating the abuse, and additional information about each site (e.g., is the site live or parked; is the sie e-commerce enabled?).

What does a detailed report tell me that a search engine can't?

While a free report will only tell you the number of sites that infringe on your brand, a full detailed report gives you much more information than a search engine ever could for a number of reasons. The best way to put it is that a search engine like Google searches DEEP and in the process, produces lots of irrelevant detail by searching words together and separately. Hollander and Company LLC searches broadly and provides much greater relevancy by searching words together (just like your trademarks and company names are used) and by searching only home pages, where the most relevant examples of abuse can be found.

In addition, our report is more thorough. The best search engines only search a quarter of the Internet - as in 25% - while Hollander and Company LLC searches 100%, including ccTLDs. Search engines do not search domain names, for cybersquatting, and they do not give WHOIS information of the offending registrant. Hollander and Company LLC does - which allows you to define the location of the abuse, download or sort results and take fast action.

Using a search engine to find examples of brand abuse or cybersquatting takes days, even weeks, and is an impossible task. Hollander and Company LLC takes less than five minutes and gives you the information you need to take action immediately.
